Traceability · Batches · Recall

Batch traceability and recall
for food & beverage producers.

In a recall, every hour counts. SCIS links every raw-material lot to batch and customer and shows what's affected at a click — days become minutes, and audit prep a matter of hours.

A recall shouldn't be a scavenger hunt.

When a quality issue hits, speed decides. Hunting batches through folders and scattered spreadsheets costs days — exactly the time the legal deadlines don't allow. And the next audit raises the same coverage question all over again.

What SCIS does for traceability

Traceability as part of daily operations — not a separate document archive that doesn't hold up when it matters.

Batch genealogy

Every raw-material lot linked to batch and customer — backward to the supplier, forward to the recipient.

One-click recall

For a suspect lot, instantly every affected batch, product and customer — in minutes, not days.

Bill of materials (BOM)

Recipes and consumption per finished product as the basis for end-to-end traceability.

Batch capture enforced in production

A batch cannot be completed before its consumption is covered by the BOM — no gaps.

Shop-floor declaration

Consumption and batches are captured right in production, not reconstructed later at a desk.

Audit-ready dossiers

Audit- and authority-ready traceability records at the click of a button — for IFS, BRC and the real thing.

The payoff

  • Recall in minutes, not days — legal deadlines safely met.
  • Audit prep from weeks to hours — audit-ready at the click of a button.
  • Gap-free genealogy, because batches are captured during production, not after.
  • Trust with retailers and authorities — traceability as solid evidence.

Frequently asked questions

What is batch traceability?

Batch traceability (lot/batch genealogy) links every raw-material lot to the batches produced from it and the customers supplied. You can follow it both ways: which supplier lot a batch came from (backward) and which customers received a given lot (forward).

How fast is a recall with SCIS?

Instead of digging through folders and spreadsheets for days, one-click recall instantly shows every affected batch, finished product and customer for a suspect raw-material lot. Days become minutes — the prerequisite for meeting the short legal deadlines.

Does SCIS meet the EU traceability requirement?

EU Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 requires traceability "one step back, one step forward". SCIS documents these links end-to-end and produces them as an audit-ready dossier — for authorities as well as IFS/BRC audits.

How does SCIS ensure batches are captured completely?

A production batch cannot be completed while its consumption is not covered by the bill of materials. Declaration happens right on the shop floor, so there are no gaps in the genealogy you would have to rely on in an emergency.

Do I have to change my production to use it?

No. Capture runs through a simple declaration on the production floor and builds on your existing bills of materials. SCIS is live in weeks — no months-long rollout.

Recall-ready in weeks, not quarters.
